OPRAH TRIES LOBSTER SHOOTERS! In early December, Oprah was in town to promote her good friend, George Lucas' new movie Red Tails. The event took place after the screening at a home in Highland Park. Most of the cast members were there. The line up included Cuba Gooding Jr, Terrence Howard, and Ne-Yo, to name a few.
The movie is based on a true story about a crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program, having faced segregation while kept mostly on the ground during World War II, are called into duty under the guidance of Col. A.J. Bullard.
Kent Rathbun Catering was the caterer for the party and we made Lobster Shooters specially for Oprah, who likes to hang out in the kitchen with the staff! She was warm, friendly and did not hesitate to be in pictures with our crew.

Each month in 2011, we have featured one of Chef Kent's original recipes which can be found in the 2011 Hunger and Thirst Calendar. We will start on the 2012 recipes in January. Chef Kent, photographer Pat Haverfield and The North Texas Food Bank worked together to bring you this calendar which proceeds helps feed the hungry. Each month has a recipe, a stunning picture of the dish, and a tear out recipe card.
